Anar Tahirov is a seasoned engineer with nearly a decade of experience in the oil and gas industry. He currently serves as the Process Safety Chief Engineer at SOCAR Türkiye, where he has been instrumental since 2015 in optimizing production processes, enhancing safety protocols, and improving energy efficiency. Anar has a strong focus on process safety, having contributed to studies like HAZOP/LOPA, Overfill Prevention, and Alarm Rationalization. His expertise includes reviewing P&ID/PFD documents, implementing corrective actions to mitigate safety deficiencies, and conducting safety audits to ensure regulatory compliance. Before joining SOCAR Türkiye, Anar gained experience as a Process Engineer at AzMeCo Azerbaijan Methanol Company and SOCAR Methanol, where he worked on process design and safety improvements. He also served as a QA/QC Engineer at NORM LLC, leading teams in product testing and ensuring the accuracy of technical data. Anar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, where he designed a scalable, efficient biomass power plant and developed a methodology for extractive distillation processes. He also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Marmara University, complementing his technical expertise with strong business acumen.
