Educational background in applied mathematics and started the career in the Energy & Utility sector. Now for more than ten year in the chemical industry. At Evonik responsible for the corporate supply chain function and in this role driving the companies large and global supply chain transformation.
The Pop in My Job:
There never have been better times for a supply chain transformation in the chemical industry. Everyone up to the supervisory boards reads in the daily newspaper about the importance of supply chain management. And there have never been harder times for such a transformation, because ongoing disruptions are pushing operational supply chain at its limit. This is a great challenge for every leader that is embracing changes!
Guy Thompson is a seasoned finance professional with nearly two decades of experience in credit risk management and accounts receivable processes, primarily in the chemical and industrial sectors. Since January 2022, he has served as the Head of Global Credit Risk at Sun Chemical, based near Frankfurt, Germany, where he oversees global credit risk strategies. His extensive tenure at Sun Chemical, which began in October 2005, includes roles such as Credit Risk Manager for EMEA and China, and responsibilities as a global process owner for collections and credit risk management. He was also a key member of the SAP implementation team and led the European SAP Project Aurora for global treasury management.
Before joining Sun Chemical, Thompson worked at Impress Group BV for over three years, where he held positions including Payables Process Manager and Division Controller. He also briefly served as Director of Finance at Schaeff Terex GmbH in 2002. Thompson holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Business from Canterbury Christ Church University, completed in 2010. He also has academic credentials in Accounting, Law, and Economics from The University of Manchester.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Torsten Becker, Head of the Supply Chain Management Program at SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences, 28 years of consulting experience in the supply chain at BESTgroup Consulting and PRTM (now part of PWC &Strategy), previously plant manager at the Daimler-Benz Group. Doctorate in the field of production systems at the WZL of RWTH Aachen University.
According to the motto “Doing is like wanting, only more blatant”, I help companies to implement sustainable performance improvements. To pass on my know-how and experience, I teach supply chain management at SRH so that the next generation can achieve results faster.
Lennart Heip is a seasoned supply chain professional with over 15 years of experience at Dow, specializing in international trade operations, logistics, and trade compliance. Currently serving as the Global Modal Leader International Trade Operations, Lennart oversees global strategies for bulk marine and air modal logistics while ensuring compliance with international trade policies. His career at Dow includes key roles such as Global Modal Leader Trade Compliance, where he implemented robust trade compliance programs, and leadership positions in EH&S and manufacturing logistics. Lennart's expertise spans operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and leveraging innovative trade facilitation techniques to enhance global supply chain efficiency. He holds a degree from Universiteit Gent and is based in the Netherlands, where he continues to drive advancements in sustainable and compliant trade operations.
Julie Gould is a results-oriented supply chain professional who focuses on building strategic capabilities for sustained collaborative and innovate outcomes. She brings systems thinking and strong analytical and modelling skills. Julie’s project experience includes distribution network strategy and optimization, business intelligence and business process improvement for healthcare and life sciences. Julie is a Doctor of Social Sciences and has researched in the area of Supply Chain Risk, Security, Sustainability and Intermodal Transportation. Julie also holds a Masters of Arts in Business Studies as well as a BCOM in Decision and Information Systems.
